Maximize Protection, Minimize Worry
Shielding Your Spaces
Professional carpet and fabric protection helps give you more time to respond to spills while making routine maintenance and future cleaning easier. Evergreen Carpet Care applies protective treatments to eligible carpets, upholstery, and other fabric surfaces throughout Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Gardnerville, Lake Tahoe, Truckee, and surrounding communities.
Before applying a protector, we evaluate the material, its condition, previous treatments, and how the surface is used. Based on that inspection, we can recommend an appropriate product and explain what the treatment can and cannot protect against.

What Carpet and Fabric Protector Does
A professionally applied protector forms a barrier around eligible fibers. This can help:
- Slow the absorption of some water-based and oil-based spills
- Give you more time to blot a spill before it penetrates the fibers
- Reduce how strongly dry soil and residue cling to the material
- Make routine vacuuming and spot care more effective
- Help treated fibers release soil more easily during professional cleaning
Protection does not make carpet or upholstery stain-proof. Bleach, dyes, strong acids, corrosive substances, permanent discoloration, and physical wear may still damage treated materials.
Protective Treatments
Selected for Your Surfaces
Evergreen Carpet Care offers professional protective treatments for eligible carpet and fabric surfaces. The product we recommend may depend on the fiber, construction, location, expected use, and manufacturer care requirements.

FluoroSolve Fabric and Carpet Protection
FluoroSolve may be recommended for certain carpet, upholstery, and specialty fabric applications. It is applied to clean, compatible fibers and is designed to help repel dry soil and certain water-based or oil-based spills.

Scotchgard Carpet and Fabric Protection
Scotchgard may be recommended for eligible carpets and upholstery where additional spill and soil resistance is desired. The treatment surrounds individual fibers with a nearly invisible protective barrier while allowing the material to retain its normal appearance and texture.
Before treatment, our technicians inspect and test the material to determine whether protection is appropriate. We will also explain drying requirements, maintenance instructions, and when reapplication may be beneficial.
Help Protect Your Investment
Applying protector after professional cleaning may help preserve the results and make ongoing maintenance easier. For many homeowners and businesses, it is a practical way to add protection to carpet and upholstery that are still in good condition.
Our Carpet and Fabric Protection Process
Every pet odor problem is different. Before recommending treatment, we evaluate the location, severity, age, and depth of the contamination so we can determine the most appropriate approach.
1. Surface Inspection
We inspect the carpet, upholstery, or fabric to identify the fiber type, condition, visible damage, previous treatments, and any manufacturer care restrictions.
2. Professional Cleaning
Protector is generally applied to new or freshly cleaned materials. Existing soil, oils, and residue can interfere with even application and performance, so professional cleaning may be recommended first.
3. Compatibility Testing
When appropriate, we test the material in an inconspicuous area to evaluate color stability, texture, and product compatibility.
4. Even Application
The selected protector is applied evenly to eligible fibers using professional equipment and the appropriate amount of product for the material.
5. Drying and Curing
The treated surface must remain undisturbed while it dries. Drying time depends on the material, ventilation, temperature, humidity, and amount of product applied.
6. Final Care Instructions
Before we leave, we explain when the treated area can be used, how to respond to spills, and when professional cleaning or reapplication may be recommended.
Where Carpet and Fabric Protection Can Help
Protective treatment may be especially useful for:
- Family rooms and heavily used living areas
- Dining rooms and breakfast areas
- Homes with children or pets
- Stairs, hallways, and other high-traffic carpeted areas
- Sofas, sectionals, dining chairs, and upholstered furniture
- Offices, waiting rooms, and commercial spaces
- Newly installed carpet or recently cleaned upholstery
Not every material is a candidate for protector. Delicate, specialty, damaged, or manufacturer-restricted fabrics may require a different approach.
