From February 27-March 2 of this year, we were lucky enough to learn a lot on rug cleaning at the “Advanced Rug Washing & Oriental Rug ID” class held at the amazing facility of Dry Concepts in Davie, FL. This was the fourth class we attended that is put on by Rug Advocate – we have learned so much from them at every seminar. We got to work with an enthusiastic group of people from around the United States and Canada, and we were able to openly share trade secrets and swap valuable tips on rug cleaning that would normally not be shared between friendly competitors.

Nathan Koets, from Clean Oriental Rug in Grand Rapids, MI, Paul Lucas, from ChemMax in Norton Shores, MI, and Cameron Mayville from Brite-N-Kleen in Omaha, NE taught and performed various cutting-edge methods of specialty rug cleaning such as silk and faux silk Oriental pieces, rugs with dyes that are not stable and are expected to bleed, and animal hides. The group we were a part of also participated in projects such as re-latexing custom tufted rugs, and discussed important topics such as pre-inspection, area rug repair, water removal, contamination containment, and speed drying.

We’re grateful and proud to be at the forefront of rug cleaning education. At Evergreen Carpet Care, we use the advanced methods of rug cleaning and caring for specialty textiles that were learned at the Rug Restoration Seminars and we have had much success and customer satisfaction with our new techniques.

Our rug cleaning process completely removes dirt, dander, stains and spots, but is so gentle that even delicate rugs are safe. If you would like to protect your rug, we treat it with a solvent based protectant that has acid dye blocker and UV protection in it.
